EducationIGTA is keen to support the education of finance executives in treasury matters on a worldwide basis. It has been agreed, by delegates to the IGTA 2002 Annual Meeting, that IGTA will support a process of accreditation of existing education programmes developed by treasury associations and other education providers. This is to ensure that the programmes meet IGTA standards. The first accreditation programme is for the IGTA Certified Treasurer qualification level. Education providers or local treasury associations that wish to achieve accreditation at this level for their own local programmes of treasury education should read the Guide and complete the application form, emailing a copy back to the IGTA Honorary Secretary with a copy to the Accreditation Committee chairman (chairman@igta.org or theo@vandernat.org). The background to the Accreditation Committee’s constitution and objectives is contained in the documents below. Earlier discussions on Education mattersDiscussions took place at earlier IGTA meetings as follows: On 14 May 2000, IGTA delegates met to discuss how IGTA could support the development of education for treasurers. The syllabi below are under discussion as a basis for the assessment of the suitability of treasury qualifications to be certified by IGTA. Plans are still under development. Three categories of certification were proposed. Links to each are given below - note these categories are different from and superceded by, the categories identified in the papers associated with the 2002 Annual Meeting.
